I have made table runner, a table topper and a full size quilt from ugly fabric (as well as pretty fabric) with a block called mom's unwanted block (9 1/2" block) from "Traditional Quiltworks" magazine issue #59. It is cut small enough and combined with one other fabric that seems to cut down on the "ugly" factor. If your interested PM me with your e-mail address and I'll send directions to you.
