I have hand quilted with spray basting and didn't mind it, but it's been several years ago. I used Sullivan's spray and did it pretty lightly. Someone else tried pulling a needle thru and she thought the needle dragged, but I can't say it bothered me. Best way is to do up a square and try it yourself before you do it on a big project.
