Please don't throw them away, our group saves everything & we use them tp fill pet beds for the animal shelter. For the pillow covers we use no longer loved fabrics that have been donated, the animals don't care if it is old or no longer liked.
Also a good way for children to learn to sew, my 7 yr old granddaughter likes to sew the square or rectangle for the pillow, her seams are not perfect but then again the animals don't care. It gives her a chance to do real sewing & also learn to help in the community.
