Thank goodness the kids usually don't chew a hole in the quilts! I made my first quillow for my niece and gave it to her for Christmas when we were visiting. The first thing she did was stick her feet in the pillow pocket and ripped the stitching. No sewing machine so I had to repair it by hand. After that I always doubled stitched the pillow pocket.
Your repair isn't even noticeable. Lucky dog!
