I have been cooking with coconut oil for about 3 yrs now. I fry all fried food with it. I buy the Louann brand at wal mart. My daughter use to buy it in 50 lb can and so she bought me some. I use about 2 lb a month. It may be expensive, but it is worth it. the louAnn from walmart is $5.48 for 2 lb jar.

Growing up my folks had the theatre in town, made LOTS of popcorn with Coconut oil from the 50 lb can. Some of the customers liked their popcorn with butter, others liked it with the melted coconut oil on it.
