One of my favorite things was a fabric exchange. Each person brought up to 5 pieces of fabric, any size. All fabrics were laid out on tables. We drew numbers and got in line accordingly. The line passed by the tables 5 times. Each time through you could choose 1 fabric for yourself. You could go through the line as many times as you had fabric pieces donated. So most people went through all 5 times, but those who only brought 2 or 3 pieces had to drop out. It was great fun and didn't cost a thing except the opportunity to get rid of unwanted fabrics from our stashes.
