I belong to a large guild which meets monthly and we have many activities...a speaker or demonstration of some type, charm square exchange, block of the month, a yearly challenge, show & tell, etc.

And I also belong to a small bee. We had 8 members but are now down to 6, and also meet monthly. We've done block exchanges and row robins, plus we celebrate birthdays and have a Christmas party/cookie exchange. Once we did a fabric dump where each person brought a bag full of unwanted fabric, we dumped it all on the table, and then everyone filled their bag back up with stuff from the pile. Lately we've been making charity lap quilts with donated fabrics and leftover batting. We meet at one member's home and set up an assembly line with some sewing, some pressing, and some squaring up blocks. We usually make quilt-as-you-go string blocks, which are fast and easy. The six of us can put together a lap quilt in just a couple of hours. It's great fun, we use up scraps and leftovers, and help the community with our donations.
