Thank you all. I had wondered if I could treadle it too. I would love to have that ability. It does seem to be missing the light cover but I don't know if there is something else to turn the light on and off. I have tried it out with a piece of fabric with a straight stitch and it is so quiet and sews beautifully. I did find a manual and now I will oil and clean it. I am pleased with it. Man it is heavy though.

To treadle you have to have room for the belt. I've seen some machines with knock out plugs - take the plug out and set the machine in a treadle. I don't know if that one does or not. Heavy isn't a bad thing - it won't bounce off your table while you are sewing.
