Thanks y'all. I've fallen into the pattern of using my FW for piecing and my 15-91 for quilting here lately. I wanted to stipple it, but used a fairly heavy backing, so I kept breaking thread and skipping stitches. I ended up doing sort of a free-form straight line "stipple" with my walking foot down each column.
The mother seemed a little surprised by the gift, but then the next day she said her husband had just loved it. Apparently it reminded him of scrappy quilts from when he was little.
That made my day. My favorite quilts to make are for babies.
