I haven't made one YET. (BTW, Kathy T, I love yours) One member of my guild made a picture album quilt for each of several family members. She used photos (various sizes and shapes) each with black corners added, like an old fashioned photo album. I had a commission to make a 50th anniversary quilt. I made a large tree, with leaves that were the names of family members. Around the edges, I made an inner border of vignettes, each representing something important to the couple involved. He was from Canada. I included a maple leaf. She was a teacher. I included and apple, etc. I am planning one with photos of many family members and symbol or 2 by each to let my GKs know what their relatives were about. There is no one (or even 10) right way(s) to make a memory quilt.
