Hubby and I are Janome fans we have the 6600p good for sewing and quilting and fancy stitches and lettering and numerical. /needle up/finger button for stitching/large throat/button holes/good for machine quilting. It does not have a free arm.
Janome 11,000 has all these features plus embroidering down load capability,usb/ata card. and a free arm. If I had to buy just one machine it would be the 11,000. but we love both machines.
11,000 goes for about 5,000 the new 12000 goes for around 10,000 not much difference except price
Also check out the 9700 much cheaper around 1,800.00 Good luck.
