Default Minnesota -B-

Last week forum member bdschafer posted a thread about a Minnesota -B- machine her friend had. This is one of Bette's pictures from her thread: It seems that this old machine had been the friends Grand mother's then mother's, then her machine. Being ancient it's got a few problems that led them to decide to part with it. Bette asked on her thread if anybody wanted it, if not she was considering trashing it. I piped up with an offer which she accepted. We decided to meet today at the Jack-In-The-Box in Troy, IL. About an equal drive for both of us. Unfortunately we forgot to reset all our clocks and were a bit late. But Bette and her husband Dave were there waiting. We exchanged greetings and talked a bit about the forum, machines, and quilting. She gets material from (I hope I've remembered this right.) vetrans groups then makes quilts from them and give them to the vets. After chatting and eating a bit we decided it was time to leave, and take a couple of pics. The lighting wasn't really great so we only got two pics on my camera. Bette's husband was taking pics with their camera so I hope he got some good ones too. We tried to pose the Minnesota but we didn't do too good of a job. Here's the only one we got: We needed it up higher to get a good one, but the lighting was wrong. Then Bette and I posed with the machine, and here we are: After this we all headed out in our respective directions. My wife and I enjoyed meeting and talking with Bette and Dave. Hope they had a good trip home. We stopped at a couple big antique shops on the way home, getting here fairly late. Between testing a couple other machines and unloading we didn't do anything with the Minnesota. I'll start on re-wiring it tomorrow or at least later in the week, then report back. Joe Joe
