I do alterations for people, not so much any more. But they want miracles for $5. I don't know who you know that is making $$$$$$s from alterations but it is not here in PA. People who think you sew at your kitchen table expect the world for a little money as possible. Now I sew for a select few people that I know and can trust to not take advantage of me.
They won't pay a private person good money to make alterations, But they will pay the dry cleaners. Check with your local dry cleaners and see if they have an alterations person and, if not, how much they'd pay.
