The borders in question will be on the drop from what I plot out on graph paper. If you go to
http://www.blankquilting.com/freepatterns.aspx you should be able to find the Casablanca quilt made up in their Casablanca fabrics. That shows the center which should be the top of the bed. The outer border on that plus what I am asking about would I think end up as the drop.

It's really hard to tell without pictures. Seems like it would be fine with the center enlargements as long as they would cover the top of the bed. I don't like to have more than on or two thin borders appear on the top. I don't know if there are rules for this, but that is my preference.
