True ... and I understand your concerns!
However, if it's a "real" mystery, we shouldn't be relying on your judgments.
I'm doing a Mystery Quilt right now that is being done via LQS' in Canada, USA and Australia, and hosted by the quilt designer. The LQS' knew nothing more up front than what we did. Each month, we pick up our Clue in hard copy.... on the initial Clue, once we paid our enrolment fee, we were shown two sets of fabrics that the samples would be shown as in the Clues each month. We could use those fabrics ... or use our stash. That initial Clue gave the instructions as to what to look for in selecting our fabric, eg. contrast, dark/light/medium, sparkle, large/small print, blender, etc. ... and one of the comments was "be sure you really like this fabric, as there will be a lot of it!"
So with all this long winded comments ... what I'm thinking ... if you could do the same thing, show us your Fabric A, B, C etc. ... and the instructions as to the qualities of each ... then let the Mystery begin!!!
And maybe ... that wouldn't be such a bad thing for you ... two weeks of peace and quiet, while the kids do their stash shopping!!!!!!!!!!
Just some comments from the peanut gallery ... and of course, do as you wish!
