I am in the process of finishing up a new sewing room, and one of the things that I had done in it, were to have all the electrical outlets put in about the counter tops, and to have some of them control the light above as well as the outlets beside them. That way when I shut off the above lighting, I also shut off my irons and my sewing machine. I have always hated to have to reach down behind furniture to plug something in.
