Thank you, gailinva!
I use threads "Yli Threads 60/2 ply are 100% cotton" color it closest to the piece to apply or smoke color.
The needles are the "Black Gold Hand Sewing Needles (Applique/Sharps)". Only I have to say that she is "they wash", but they are wonderful because they pass through any plot of fabric as if nothing!.
And the method is the Appliqué whit Freezer Paper. I learned it to Erin Russek and Karen Kay Buckley (in her blog the first and the second for her DVD). As in my country there is not freezer paper, I use templates that I conducted with washed medical x-rays.
And I can only say that the secret is in practice much and each block will be better than the last.
I hope have answered your questions clearly!
A big hug!
