I have to laugh! I bought this book and was motivated. . . back around 2007 and 2008. I made up my strips and cut and made up some blocks. Then I got called to do a week long sub for the high school librarian. I had retired in 2004. One of the girls loved quilting and I brought the patches in for her to lay out. She did a FABULOUS job. We numbered them so I'd know what to sew where and I packed it up for home.
My next subbing job was a long term during which I met my DH. LSS, It has moved with me twice since then as I, then we, relocated. I finally got it together this winter and it's fabulous. I can't wait to do more. I had no problems to speak of so maybe you need an inspired teenager for encouragement or you should make this quilt and let it be a UFO for a while as it moves along! I used blues and yellows which worked well but your color choices are INSPIRED! What a knockout quilt!
