FYI. That email was sent to probably everyone that has visited the Babylock website. Also as your new machine was regestered with Babylock, they would send you this latest email. I got it as well. To clear things up. You don't need any software to use your machine. You can purchase on line or retreive from a cd what ever you like, no software needed. Next, Designers Gallery/ Designers Gallery Studio Plus/ Designers Gallery Studio III. Is a way to view your designes, catalog your designs, convert format (change say from SEW to PES) add a basting stitch, view and change colors/ deleate colors, well the list goes on. There are tool packs available that go along with this program as add ons. Size Works, Hoop Works, Denisity Works, Custom Works, Quilt Works, Letter Works. In other words, giving Designers Gallery more capability. Why have these? Well for instance....you click on Studio (DGS) now you can see your designs. Click on your design of choice, now maybe you would like it bigger or smaller than it is. Yes, your machine has sizing abilities, but not like Size Works does. In Size Works as you make a design bigger, it also increases the stitch count, thus maintaining the intregrity of the design. Or should you go smaller, it reduces the stitch count. Your machine keeps the same stitch count, big or small. This is just one example. So why Embroidery Works? Babylock has combined these great products into one product. It may seen like a lot of money, but much cheaper than buying Designers Gallery Studio with the tool packs. You should also know this is not digitizing softwear. This program works with already digitized designs. You can edit the designs, crop them, combine, overlap, repeate, mirror, it really is amazng. And you don't need to know denisity, pull compensation....well all the digitizing pitfalls that can happen. You can go online and watch a video if you like. Hope this helps.
