Here's some pics of a quilt I finished last night. The pattern is called "Nine Patch Wonder" from the "Jelly Roll Quilts" book by Pam & Nicky Lintott. I used a jelly roll of "Fig and Plum" collection from Moda for the nine-patch blocks, and used some yardage I selected for the hourglass blocks, borders, backing, and binding.

While I was working on piecing the blocks, my youngest daughter, Olivia, remarked that she liked one particular fabric in it, so I decided to make the quilt hers when done. The hourglass blocks and the nine-patch blocks remind me of a checkerboard, hence the name I gave it. :) The overall size is 68" x 80".

The quilt in the book just had a square border, but I decied that I wanted to try a scalloped border since I hadn't done one yet. It took some calculating and figuring, but I managed and am pleased with how it looks. I think it probably took me maybe 2 extra hours of effort over a conventional square border since I had to figure and create a template and do the scalloped cuts, but I think it was worth the effort.
