You are such a nice person to do that for her.

Many years ago, my very best friend was going through a really rough time with her back. She was not working and really down in the dumps. She had shown me some butterfly quilt blocks that her mother had made but never put into a quilt. They were appliqued and stitched in black thread with the blanket stitch. Really Pretty. Her daughter slipped them out of the house for me and I assembled them into a quilt for her. I only had enough time to quilt in the ditch. around the blocks. This was machine pieced and hand quilted. Every other block was one of those butterflies and I alternated with a solid blue square in order to make it bed size. I had 2 blocks left over to I made her matching pillows. Igave it to her one year for Christmas. She still talks about that quilt.

Gifts like your pink ribbon quilt will always be treasured. I know because the butterfly quilt wasn't near as involved to make and my girlfriend still talks about it. You are a special person to do that.
