Smile I am Really Really Really Impressed, And have an oil question

Well I finally actually sewed with one of my new Singer featherweights and I can't believe the perfect 1/4 inch seam I got (attached the cloth guide).

I've got 3 top of the line and very pricey sewing/embroidery machines and they Never seem to give me good and consistent quarter inch seams no matter what I do (move needle and use special presser feet).

I went to a sewing expo beginning of the month and bought a special 45 degree ruler to use with strip piecing (jelly rolls), so you really do have to have accurate seams, which I didn't. Well NOW I do. I tried out the featherweight and then the special ruler and it all worked out perfectly. Can't wait to get back to this project now.

Before I used the machine hubby wanted to replace the oil pad and put in the oil and lubricant to all the required places. Gosh, there must be over 30 places in all.
So my question is, how often do you ladies oil these machines in ALL those places ?

Thanks, and now a true featherweight lover. This is the one that i will be taking to classes - hubby just finished making the case that cam with it look like brand new. Also, now I really can't wait for the new one that is coming from Canada - it is the red "S" featherweight with free arm.

Thanks
