Looks like there is a single block to this pattern ( well a block and it's mirror image)
Here's a block that I tried to isolate. If you know how to construct a braid, you should be able to figure it out, but you will need to experiment with the size of the strips. I would start with a white square, then add the braid strips. I think the strip length would be the length of one side of the square plus the width of the strip you are using. trim the sides of the braid, then add the triangles to the sides.
Proportionally, it looks like the square is less than half the size of the finished block, and the strips finish at half the white square width. I think I would go for a 10" block, starting with a 4.5" square (finishes at 4) then 2.5" wide strips, which finish at 2" each.
A smaller version would be a 2.5" starting square and 1.5" braid strips yielding a 5" finished square...
I'm going to try and post a picture. First time on new board...
