I use the water soluable stabilizer as glue for my appliques, works great. I also use it on my doilies to make them stiff again as well after having to wash them. makes one wonder if it would work on your fabric, if it makes everything else stiff, would be worth a try to see if would work again as stabilizer. It makes a great paste for glue. I made an embroidered hot air balloon ornament and used the water stabilizer to keep the balloon part stiff and worked great.
