I have a Viking 8-18, which is manufactured by TL. It's the same model as their TL 18LS. I love it! I have had no tension issues at all and it is not fussy at all about thread. I had the dealer set it up, but haven't had any problems at all. I've had it a year next week.
I also have this model, the Viking 8-18 and it is working great for me. Not picky with threads and just marches through my quilts.
