I have a Janome 6600 and DH tweaked the knee lift for me. It was too far over and I really had to push my leg over quite a bit just to use it. I use my right foot on the pedal and the lift.
I have a Janome 6600 also. I cut a piece of styrofoam "pool noodle" to fit over the end of my knee lever. That brings it a little farther to the left and therefore easier to reach with my knee.
