I have many different scissors that I use. I bought the Karen Kay Buckley micro-serrated which are very sharp but do not have sharp points but blunt points. They do cut great for straight cutting but not appliques and turning corners or curves because of the blunt points (inmho)... I don't recommend them unless you are going to do short, straight cuts. I use a pair of those for cutting applique. I very rarely use the tips. But I learned to cut doing decopage and learned to cut fairly intricately without moving the scissors. The micro serrations really helps cut down on the edges fraying.
