I have a 1222E, love my machine. I'm the second owner and so glad the first owner took such good care of it. I haven't figured out how to make it do all the decorative stitches that it is supposed to be capable of. I use it mostly for piecing flannel quilts, binding most of my quilts and sometimes machine quilting.

Sharon, there is nothing to doing the decorative stitches! You just push down whatever button for the stitch you want! I have had my 1222e since 1976! It cost me $1800 back then - including the table - We couldn't afford it, but I wanted it so bad we got it anyway! I have never looked back - that machine was the best thing I ever did! He still runs great and I use him all the time for decorative bindings! Pfaff had the patent on that IDT walking foot for a very long time. There were no other machines with that walking foot until the patent ran out for Pfaff's exclusive rights to it. That is when Viking or whomever started adding it to their machines.
