Default Saved from being a boat anchor----

I bought this at a antique shop and the guy called it a boat anchor-----for $25-----It is a Minnesota Model D hand crank-----sold by Sears from 1900-1910---according to Issmacs----all parts are there and move (slowly) It is really dirty and I have my work cut out for me-----including some wood gluing on the carved case and cleaning. Any suggestions? I love it anyway----even if the store guy thought it should be used for an anchor......
