I found it really helps to always have that IDT foot engaged too when doing the decorative stitches - that way you don't get bunched up fabric.

I was trying to use the fancy stitches for quilting like I do with the Sapphire, it wasn't pretty. I usually have the IDT foot engaged when I use the Pfaff. I'd like to find someone less cranky than my local Pfaff dealer to really go over my Pfaff and adjust everything. The local guys tell me they've worked on it and I don't think they do much.
