I just finished a quilt that's going to a charity silent auction and was wondering, should I put a label on it? I belong to a group that makes charity quilts - usually pieced by one member, quilted by another or tied by the group, and bound by another - so we put on a generic label with the group's name only, not even the year made. But these are utility quilts that we don't expect to last forever and, though we never send out anything we wouldn't want to use ourselves, they're not show quilts. Should it be different for a quilt somebody's actually going to pay $ for (and yes, this one had more work go into it because I hope somebody will actually want to pay $ for it). What does everybody else do with theirs?
