I'm not sure if this will be helpful but I bought a program called Catalog It when I realized I was building a stash of designs that could compete with my stash of fabric. I have all my designs in folders but I can't view them. When put in Catalog It, I can view the design, see the size of the design, see what the stitch count is, how many thread colors are used, and I use Isacord thread and I can set it to show me what thread colors I need to use.
Sometimes I download designs and don't have time to renamed them and then forget what they are. I have a file in Catalog It called "Unknown Designs". I put them in there and then I can see what they look like and rename them and put them in an appropriate category.
I paid $100 for it but Sewforless has it for $80. I think it's a very worthwhile purchase.
