That's a great price. Go for it!! Don't worry about giving up the free arm; keep your old machine for that. What you give up in free arm you will gain in extra space between the machine head and bed for shoving your quilt into, and with the accufeed foot you will be inspired to machine quilt.

I have a 6600 and it sews better than I do. My old free-arm machine is also a Janome and it has a sweet sound. The schools here used Janomes because they were so durable and easy to use which says something about them as well.
