When I scrapbooked all the time, I did it on the dinning room table. It was there, saw it all the time therefore I would sit down and work on a layout nearly everyday. Then moved it to a bedroom, my space, loved it but didn't scrapbook nearly as much. It wasn't where I could see it. Then decided I wanted to learn to quilt (still a beginner) and I enjoy having a place that is all mine. Our children are grown and my husband is gone a lot, no one to bother me while I sew and then have to Unsew. Quilting is stressful when trying to learn how to make corners meet. But loving it!!! It has to get easier as time goes by.
