I have made a few with a reduced pattern from the original. These are my cut sizes:
Top portion, front and back---2 of 7" x 16"
bottom contrast front & back ----2 of 5" x 16"
lining ------------------------------2 of 11 1/2" x 16"
front pocket -----------------------1 of 4 1/2" x 7 1/2"
front pocket lining ----------------1 of 6 1/2" x 7 1/2"
inside pockets ---------------------1 of 11" x 33" (you cut in half to make 2 pockets)
Pellon: 4 of 11 1/2" x 15 3/4" (front, back, lining)
1 of 5" x 16 1/2" (inside pockets)
1 of 4 1/2" x 7 1/2" ( front pocket)
1 of 41/4" x WOF ( handle)

The bag bottom I always wait until the bag is done, then make the sturdy bottom to fit.
The handles and loop fastener are the same, and your side ties can be shortened after sewing on, if you want.
Hope this helps!
