You will need the PED basic ( the box you are talking about) - the only designs you can download from the internet have to be in PES format and 100 x100 in size- I believe that machine has only the small hoop . I have the Brother SE270S and it is great for starting - simple to use and fun
But don't be surprised when you want a bigger hoop LOL
