I have had a lot of luck with Advil Gell caps - which are easier on the stomach. When I get a flare-up, I take these 3 times a day for seven days and that seems to really settle it down. Now have it in my hands and that is more of a problem for me than my knees - I am a hand quilter!! Water exercise is great too if you have a YMCA or a pool near you. Good luck.
