I am in the process of makiing two quilts for the neighbor children. I found some fabric at a local art craft shop where people donate leftover artsy stuff and then it is sold. I bought two cotton fabric maps, one of the United States (which shows the name of the state, capitol and picture of the State Bird and State Flower). That became the backing for the quilt. The other one is of the world and that, too, will be the backing! The children are little, but smart and I thought this would be a nice warm quilt, usable on both sides and a learning tool also!
