Actually, I hadn't thought of that!
We did move the garbage to the garage, but maybe there are kernels left under the grass that we didn't pick up.
When there was broken glass in our yard that was in the ground by just a little my mom got our shop vaccum and the extenstion cord and sucked it up. It worked quite well! :)
