are you trying to use Sulky embroidery thread?
or is Silky another brand- that one i havent' heard of
if it is Sulky embroidery thread what are you using in your bobbin? and what needle are you using?
the correct needle for the chosen thread is important- and some embroidery threads don't work so well for quilting- depending on the machine being used- going to fast they stretch & break--but using the correct needle for the thread and matching thread weights in the bobbin with the weight of the top thread will help with the tension issues.
visit Superior Threads website- they have free charts that tell you what needle to use with what thread & what the best use of that thread is.
i have spent thousands of dollars on Sulky embroidery threads and they work very nicely- used to have problems with some of the metallics until i learned to use the correct needle for the thread.
