I would go with the 10 in. blocks also. Your fabrics are beautiful, and the large blocks will do them justice. From what you said I think she is more interested in color and the designs on the fabric, then she is in the actual pattern of the quilt.

That's my opinion, too. She evidently likes a "simple" design so why tie yourself in knots trying to please her? When I'm making a gift for someone I don't know well (like a far-flung relative or somebody from my DH's work), I usually make something simple & scrappy. That way I hit all the bases color-wise. For the borders, I use what-ever color they have for their wedding (hey, if they use it for their bridal party, they mist kinda like it at least). That's just my two cents worth. I don't know which is harder... people who don't know what they want or those who know EXACTLY what they want. LOL! Please post when you're done, OK?
