Exactly the reason I don't use anything but Sulky KK 2000 temporary spray adhesive. It is safe to use indoors, non-flammable, non-toxic and orderless and clear. It's safe for the planet, ozone friendly, no CFC's or HCFC's.
This is a temporary adhesive, lasts only 2-5 days so you need to quilt soon. You use very little and you can reposition if necessary. I have terrible allergies and this doesn't seem to cause me any problems. Just a suggestion to try this. I haven't really pinned a quilt for so long, wouldn't know what to do.
