When I started giving to charity, there was a Binky Patrol chapter in my area. We would meet once a month, take our finished projects -- quilts, hats, scarves, afghans, etc., socialize & look at everyones items. There were lots of oo's & ah's no matter what they looked. It got too much for the coordinator to do all the paper work so we are no longer a Binky Patrol chapter. The quilts were always kept locally. However, now instead of belonging to any group, we still get together & the quilts are given directly to local charity groups. My understanding is a lot of them go to police or groups that go in & have to remove children from their homes. When the children are removed from their homes, they generally take nothing with them. They are given a blanket to keep. You might want to check with your local police or fire depts. to see if they would like some quilts.
