It's a S&W variation, I think, uses 4 pieces for the block instead of 6 or 8. It's called Florentine Fantasy, and is a free pattern available here:

The hardest part is choosing the perfect fabric. The second hardest part is lining up and cutting out. After that, everything is a snap!
And here on the Quilting Board there has been many posted with the pattern called 4PP or Four Patch Posey.
Some join 4 squares together ... and others cut a square into 4 triangles to then join the stacked triangles of 4.
ITA .... the hard parts are getting the right fabric, then layering before cutting.
After that it's totally FUN, with a surprise as you sew each four-some together as to what the awaiting kaleido will be!!
