Muv, it is worth it to get some of those Boye 20 1/2 needles! Those little babies make a beautiful chain stitch. Yes, they are fun to sew with! My treadle I use all the time, and the electric one I have taken to classes just to show off. Yes, my treadle has the feet for the pedal - so cute. They run like a dream and the stitch can be used as a decorative stitch it is so cute.
