So glad I thought of this now while the lint is driving my nuts on the big Black & White I'm doing. Like always I can't wait to get the batting trimmed down but with quilting and hand-quilting just beginning, and a fear of "losing" some around the edges I thought to:
Find a few inch wide strip of junk fabric and make a long strip out of it (like a wide roughly sewn binding)
Stitch with a large machine basting stitch all around the outer edge of the quilt enclosing all the layers! It can be removed later and re-used on another project.
Boy, I hope this works!! But I'm too tired to try tonight. Don't you love it when you figure out solutions?
