Joe, I've been looking off and on for a Kenmore like my mom's from 1949, and this (not quite the one) turned up. I don't think of Flickr as a selling site, but the person posting these pictures mentions a price:

My mom's looked about the same, but was in a parlor cabinet with the back of the chair designed so that when it was pushed all the way in it would look like a small chest of drawers. It was a straight-stitching workhorse with a knee control and that same brown crinkle finish.
