Here are my three blocks for this week!! I showed you C5 in a tute already. I also combined straight piecing with careful cutting and PP for C4 and C8. I only PP'd one section in each:[ATTACH=CONFIG]333363[/ATTACH]

For C4 – I measured the center sections. They finish 3/8 and ½” sections. I knew I needed several inches of yellow 7/8” wide and 1” wide. I started with a 1 x 6” section of yellow attached to a slightly narrower strip of white. Evened out the edge and then trimmed it down to what I needed so it could be pieced together without paper! All white background finishes ¼” So you need to cut a long strip ~ 16” total a minimum of ¾” wide [I prefer to simply cut wider and after the first seam is sewn, I press and make sure I have ½” of white left. The only paper-pieced part I made template for was the outermost triangles [for the triangles around the inner square, I cut 2 - 2 1/2" squares once diagonally]
