I finally tried a little bit of FMQ on my 301 yesterday. I got the clear plastic foot from Sew Classic. It was a very interesting experience. I quilt on a short arm on frame setup, so the feeling of moving the fabric instead of the machine was really different. But I liked it, and my 301 did a great job. I have to practice, practice, practice, but I can see that I would use this for smaller projects.
Yup, the 301 is one of my favorite vintage machines for FMQing. Great stitch quality, larger throat space. Win, win!
