I like the idea of the Christening dress and the baby quilts..but at the same time, I can't imagine cutting up my wedding dress!! I've been storing it for 35 years as well, and it was my mother's to begin with - she was married in 1946. My daughter wasn't able to wear it and we laugh about it because she is very thin - but my mom and I must have been even skinnier (hard to imagine now 35 years later....). But you have made me wonder about using it in baby quilts - it's that 1940's heavy satin so it would work really well. Hmmm... might have to think about it.
